Postmortem


Successes:

  • Creating a multilevel game with a highly complex game structure where I have 5 NPCs linked to ChatGPT, each with a different NPC backstory, and creating a World backstory all of which give the GPT context about how to respond -- very challenging!
  • Terrain design per scene matching the brand colors of the company whose data I am pulling from 

Failures:

  • Had to remove speech-to-text functionality to get the game working
  • Small glitches remain in the game
  • Wanted to have way more mirrors per level, but this doesn't work 

What I learned:

  • Became much better at debugging code
  • Learned how to integrate video, sound, trigger new camera set ups within a scene
  • Learned how to rig and animate 3D characters
  • Learned how to design 3D avatars 
  • Learned how to integrate APIs into Unity
  • Learned how to use Terrain builder and how to modify the skybox and lighting 
  • Was able to fix text-to-speech!!!  

Next Steps: 

  • Reintegrating text-to-speech
  • Refining ChatGPT requests further to get a more accurate picture of myself in these clones and to further reduce hallucination
  • Bettering the UI even more
